SQM and Lithchem International are pleased to announce that, effective November 1, 2002, SQM has acquired the Lithium Hydroxide business operated by Lithchem. This confirms the commitment of SQM to be a long-term player in the lithium hydroxide industry and assures Lithchem.s customers of a continued supply of lithium hydroxide. The acquisition also brings SQM control of Lithchem.s production facility in North America providing SQM.s customers with a more local supply.
